ONYX BRASS

Onyx in a JAM

Not the sticky kind, though. In 2014, Onyx Brass will be maintaining our longstanding relationship with the John Armitage Memorial – a foundation dedicated to the commissioning and performance of new music for brass, organ and choir – with performances across the UK.

In a March concert in London, we opened the 2014 JAM Season, performing in The Farthest Shore, a new oratorio by “Royal Wedding Composer” Paul Mealor. Onyx play for JAM again at the St. David’s Cathedral Festival on 27th May, performing in works by Bernstein, MacMillan and a new children’s opera by Giles Swayne: The Yonghy-Bonghy Bo.

There are further performances of Giles Swayne’s children’s opera, featuring Onyx Brass, and Handel’s Four Coronation Anthems at the City of London Festival (16th July), and in Hythe (19th July).
