⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for Recording

We are so pleased to have received a number of reviews for our 30th Birthday Recording including five stars from BBC Music Magazine and made it their disk of the week. The closing paragraph read:

“Not just awesome chops and feel, but an ability to sound like so much more than merely five brass instruments. Altogether, it is an outstanding achievement.”

BBC Music Magazine

Gramophone have also given a review and were particularity taken by the opening and closing pieces of Roxanna Panufnik and Emily Hall respectively. They also drew attention to the high quality and acoustics of the recording:

“The tone is set beautifully by Roxanna Panufnik’s Fanfare for Broadway Tower… Emily Hall’s Rimbaud inspired pieces make a fine closing diptych…The performances all sound first rate, captured by David Lefeber in splendidly rich sound, the acoustic of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s Bradshaw Hall ideal.”

Gramophone Magazine

Brass Band World also commented on Emily’s music saying and drew attention to the technical prowess of the group.

“pyrotechnical feats of performance… it is perhaps appropriate that the disc concludes in contemplative fashion with the uncluttered simplicity of Emily Hall’s response to Arthur Rimbaud’s poem Eternity. Its gentle, slowly ebbing phrases, beautifully enunciated on two flugel horns and French horn, offer three minutes of reflection on what has been 30 years of pioneering and enterprising musical spirit from this most engaging and creative of brass ensembles.”
