March 9th 2025 will see the quintet along with Katherine Arnold, present a concert of the major pieces of brass music composed by Malcolm Arnold. Headlining will be the Symphony for Brass Instruments. Written for 10 players it is major work lasting around 25 minutes, and will be the first time that Onyx Brass will have played this piece in its 32 year existence.
Alongside this we will perform the Quintet no.1, some of his Fanfares and Fantasies and then will be joined by organist, David Olloson, to perform Eugène Gigout’s Grand Choer Dialogue. We will be joined by a number of our brass friends for this day so please come along and hear this concert of some of the most influential pieces written for brass ensemble.
The performance will be at 3pm at St. Andrew’s Church, Alfriston BN26 5TL
