“Everyone beaming” at West Wight

We received a wonderful email from Judith Hunt, writing on behalf of the West Wight’s Arts Association – she’s kindly agreed to let us put it up here.

Onyx set the West Wight alight last night, they were absolutely tremendous and gave an enormous amount of pleasure. We had a packed house and everyone went out beaming.

They gave a terrific performance, a wonderfully varied programme and their introductions were very much appreciated. They know exactly how to take the stuffiness out of a concert, and the audience loved the fact that they clearly enjoyed returning to West Wight and were entering into the celebration of the diamond wedding. The piece by the diamond wedding celebrants’ son worked extremely well, and he was delighted, as were his parents. What a wonderful sound they make, especially in the showy pieces, the Copland was the highlight for me, but the Berlioz was most beautiful too.
