Transatlantic Arrives on 27th June

We are pleased to announce that our latest collaboration with Chandos Records and John Wilson, Transatlantic will release on 27th June.

Composers featured are John Adams, Sir Malcolm Arnold, Leonard Bernstein, Benjamin Britten, George Gershwin, Joseph Horovitz, Gordon Langford, Florence Price, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Sir William Walton.

As is always our focus, many of the pieces are premiere recordings and we are especially proud that the two pieces by Britten, the fanfare has been taken from the original manuscript and the Funeral March expertly reconstructed by composer Bernard Hughes from fragments of score that already existed.

However for this recording we have also chosen to depart from this principle and record two of the “monuments” of the British Brass Quintet repertoire in the Arnold Quintet no.1 and the Music Hall Suite by Horovitz.

Full Track List:
Roaring Fanfare – Sir William Walton (world premiere recording)
China Gates – John Adams arr. David Gordon Shute
Funeral March – Benjamin Britten (world premiere recording)
Octet for Brasses and Piano – Florence Price (world premiere recording)
Quintet No.1 for Brass Quintet – Sir Malcolm Arnold
Novelette in Fourths – George Gershwin arr. Timothy Jackson
A Fanfare for June 30th – Benjamin Britten (world premiere recording)
