16th July 2025 sees the release of NMC Recordings’ live recording of Holocene, our New Music Biennial 2025 collaboration with Ailís Ní Ríain.

Recorded live at Bradford Cathedral, Ní Ríain describes it as ‘an evocative and unconventional work for professional brass quintet, community brass and bowed cymbals, weaving raw and intricate soundscapes that push the boundaries of contemporary brass music.’ The Guardian said it is a ‘vivid soundscape of life on Earth 11,000 years ago (imagine prehistoric megafauna getting the Jaws treatment)’ and gave it a review for the performance in June 2025.
